latsunconference 2014 Auckland
I was disappointed after the CoreED Learning at Schools conference was cancelled just as school was winding down at the end of last year. Then excited when @taratj tweeted to see if anyone was interested in getting together anyway and having an “unconference” on the basis that people had already booked flights and accommodation. The result was about 70 teachers and others involved in technology and learning meeting for a day to discuss issues they were passionate about. Thanks to CoreED for their support in the form of a venue at SkyCity and some delicious food and end of the day drinks. Especial thanks to Tara and Jo for all their work to put the day together.
So many sessions to choose from and plenty to share and discuss.
As usual there was plenty of tweeting which means that even the sessions I couldn’t be a part of are documented and interesting links are available later. I have made a tagsexplorer to illustrate the twitter feed as it happened and as it is still happening as people blog and continue the conversations. I also got to put some more faces to twitter handles – I much prefer to know who I am talking to!
I have collated the tweets as a way of synthesising my thoughts and take aways from the day. It was an energising day of discussion and sharing, a really great way of kickstarting my brain into gear for the new school year. Thanks everyone.
